Welcome to the FIRST edition of our Blog. We are living on an island in the Caribbean called Ambergris Caye, in the town of San Pedro. Belize, Central America. The town that Madonna wrote a song about called “La Isla Bonita”. 

A favorite Island, a 16 minute flight for the International Airport in Belize City. Tourism is growing quickly to be the most sought after destination in the Caribbean. The only Country that has English as its Official language in Central America. This Island offers everything  – you can imagine, the list of which is exhaustive.  Known for the protection of the Barrier Reef, Where deep hull vessels cannot enter (nor Cruise Ships.

This is the beginning of my sixth year here, and it is expected that I will be here for a long time to come. When you visit this wonderful Country, be amazed at the diversity it has to offer. There is more to experience than meets the eye. It is steeped in history of Mayan culture, the Garifuna peoples and although English is the National language, the locals speak a blend of Mayan, Creole, Spanish & Old German as well. A smaller less spoken language is Garifuna. 

The growing season is all year long, with Onions, Carrots, being shared with neighboring Mexico beef is also a large export, however the list is more comprehensive with Citrus Fruits, Sugar, Marine Products, Crude Petroleum, Essential Oils plus others.
